The Lie That Enters Through Advertisement: Why Health Misinformation Is Becoming the New Public Health Emergency

Modern health advertising often exploits fear and hope. GSHER and CelluReva™ empower people through health literacy, biological understanding, and responsible Self-Healthcare not product dependency.

There was a time when disease entered the body silently. Today, disease often enters through the mind first.

Through a colourful advertisement. Through a celebrity holding a bottle. Through a “doctor-like” influencer in a white coat. Through a packet saying “healthy,” “natural,” “immunity booster,” “detox,” “superfood,” “sugar-free,” or “scientifically proven.”

And the common man believes.

Not because he is foolish, but because he is tired, confused, hopeful, and afraid.

Health has become the softest target of modern advertising because nothing sells better than fear and hope. A person afraid of cancer will buy anything. A diabetic patient looking for reversal will believe anything. A parent worried about a child’s growth will trust anything. A young person ashamed of obesity will try anything.

This is not just marketing. This is biological manipulation.

The World Health Organization calls this problem the commercial determinants of health—the way commercial actors influence health through products, pricing, marketing, lobbying, donations, misinformation, and political activity. WHO specifically identifies targeted marketing of products like ultra-processed foods, sugar-sweetened beverages, alcohol, and tobacco as contributors to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, and obesity. (World Health Organization)

The new power structure does not always directly force people. It influences them until they implement the wrong choice voluntarily. This Is The New Formula: Influence to Implement

This is what I call Influence to Implement.

First, create desire. Then create confusion. Then create fear. Then create urgency. Then sell the product. Then blame the patient when the result is poor.

The packet never says, “I caused the damage.” The advertisement never says, “I misled you.” The company never says, “We sold you a half-truth.” The system quietly says, “You should have taken care of yourself.”

But how can a common man take care of himself when the market is deliberately designed to confuse him?

The Advertisement May Be Legal, But Is It Truthful?

India already has laws and regulations against misleading health claims. The Drugs and Magic Remedies Act was created to control certain drug advertisements and prohibit advertisements for alleged magical remedies. (India Code) FSSAI’s food advertising and claims regulations require food claims to be truthful, unambiguous, meaningful, not misleading, and scientifically substantiated. (FSSAI)

Yet misleading health advertisements continue to flood our screens.

ASCI’s Annual Complaints Report 2023–24 found that a very large proportion of processed advertisements required modification, and it identified drugs and medicinal advertisements on digital media as a major violative sector. (ASCI) Its 2025–26 half-year report also showed healthcare among the top violating categories, with many healthcare-sector cases linked to the Drugs and Magic Remedies Act. (ASCI)

This shows one painful truth: regulation exists, but misinformation travels faster than correction. By the time the advertisement is questioned, millions may have already believed it.

Example 1: Alcohol — Ethanol Sold as Celebration

Let us call alcohol by its chemical name: ethanol.

When we say ethanol, people become alert. When we say whisky, wine, beer, or celebration, people relax.

That is the power of language.

WHO has clearly stated that there is no safe level of alcohol consumption in relation to cancer risk, and alcohol has been classified as a Group 1 carcinogen by IARC. It is causally linked to at least seven cancers, including cancers of the mouth, throat, oesophagus, liver, colorectum, and breast. (World Health Organization)

Yet advertising culture has successfully turned ethanol into sophistication, masculinity, friendship, romance, relaxation, and success.

This is not information. This is emotional engineering.

Example 2: Sugar: The Sweetest Lie

Sugar is sold as energy, happiness, reward, celebration, childhood, and love.

A child cries- give- chocolate. A guest comes-offer sweets. A festival comes-distribute sugar. A tired worker needs energy-sell a sugary drink. A cereal packet says “fortified”, but hides sugar in the background.

The common man does not see insulin resistance, fatty liver, dopamine spikes, cravings, obesity, or metabolic inflammation. He sees only a smiling family on the packet.

This is how food becomes emotional addiction before it becomes disease.

Example 3: Ultra-Processed Food: The Engineering of Craving

Ultra-processed food is not merely cooked food. It is industrially designed food.

It is designed for shelf life, repeat purchase, taste addiction, convenience, and profit. Salt, sugar, fat, flavour, crunch, colour, and packaging are combined to bypass wisdom and stimulate craving.

WHO reported that four corporate products, tobacco, ultra-processed foods, fossil fuels, and alcohol, cause 19 million deaths per year globally, or 34% of all deaths. It also described how “big industry” uses overt and covert methods to delay, deter, and block public-health policies. (World Health Organization)

The tragedy is that the person eating the packet is blamed, while the system designing the packet escapes moral responsibility.

Example 4: Superfoods: When Local Wisdom Is Replaced by Imported Branding

The word “superfood” sounds scientific, but often it is a marketing label.

A poor family may ignore dal, ragi, millets, seasonal vegetables, fermented food, curd, saag, local fruits, and traditional kitchens while chasing imported seeds, powders, berries, capsules, juices, and detox packs.

This is nutritional confusion.

Real food does not always need a foreign name. Real food does not always need premium packaging. Real food does not always need a celebrity.

In Hustle to Healing, the CelluReva philosophy is expressed beautifully: “No sugar. No processed food. No imported ‘superfoods.’” Food should come from one’s land, season, and rhythm; nutrition is not merely about calories but cellular communication.

That is GSHER’s food principle: return to biological intelligence, not fashionable consumption.

Example 5: Alkaline WaterL Chemistry Converted into Commerce

Water is essential. But not every expensive water bottle is medicine.

Alkaline water is promoted with claims of detoxification, anti-aging, cancer prevention, acid neutralization, and superior hydration. Mayo Clinic notes that alkaline water has a higher pH than plain tap water, but more research is needed to prove many of the claimed benefits. (Mayo Clinic)

This is exactly where science becomes advertisement.

A small biochemical concept is stretched into a miracle claim. A normal need is converted into premium fear. A bottle becomes a belief system.

Example 6: Yogasana Tricks: When Yoga Is Reduced to Performance

Yoga is one of India’s greatest gifts to the world.

But yoga is not a circus trick. Yoga is not an instant cure package. Yoga is not a replacement for emergency medicine. Yoga is not a business model for miracle claims.

NCCIH advises that yoga should not be used to postpone seeing a healthcare provider for a medical problem and emphasizes the importance of qualified instruction. (WHO)

The tragedy is not yoga. The tragedy is the misuse of yoga.

When yoga becomes awareness, breath, discipline, alignment, and humility, it heals. When yoga becomes a market of exaggerated claims, it misleads.

The Most Dangerous Lie: “This Product Will Heal You”

The biggest lie in modern health advertising is not always visible.

It is the hidden message that says: “You do not need to understand your body. Just buy this.”

Buy this drink. Buy this powder. Buy this course. Buy this device. Buy this retreat. Buy this supplement. Buy this detox. Buy this miracle.

This message keeps the common man dependent.

Dependent on products. Dependent on influencers. Dependent on fear. Dependent on repeated purchase. Dependent on someone else’s promise.

This is exactly what GSHER wants to change.

GSHER’s Principle: My Health, My Responsibility

In Care for Your Health, the central idea is clear: people often do not have time even to think about health; health becomes the last priority; many are influenced by religious leaders and health-food advertisements; and the silence of doctors who understand body and mind has worsened the situation.

This is why GSHER must stand not merely as an NGO, but as a health-literacy movement. GSHER’s role is to help people ask:

Who is making this claim? Who is funding this claim? Is this evidence or advertisement? Is this food or a disguised dessert? Is this yoga or a disease-cure promise? Is this supplement necessary or fear-based selling? Is this wellness or commercial manipulation?

The mission is not to frighten people. The mission is to awaken them.

CelluReva™ Protocol: From Market Noise to Cellular Truth

The CelluReva™ Protocol gives a structured answer to this chaos.

It is based on three powerful doctrines: Cellular Intelligence, Environmental Instruction, and Conscious Participation. It teaches that cells are not passive victims; they respond to nutrients, oxygen, stress hormones, electromagnetic signals, emotional states, food quality, sleep, circadian rhythm, thought patterns, and stress perception.

This is the missing education. Because the advertisement talks to the customer. But CelluReva talks to the cell. The advertisement asks: “Will you buy?” CelluReva asks: “What signal are you sending to your biology?”

  1. The advertisement creates noise. CelluReva begins with Reset.

  2. The advertisement sells stimulation. CelluReva teaches Revive.

  3. The advertisement programs fear and craving. CelluReva teaches Reprogram.

  4. The advertisement creates dependency. CelluReva teaches Restore.

This is not alternative medicine. The CelluReva manuscript clearly states that it does not reject drugs, surgery, or diagnostics; it asks a deeper question, after intervention, what environment are we returning the cell to?

That is the real question.

The New Public Health Movement Must Be Built on Truth

  1. We need a society where doctors speak beyond prescriptions.

  2. We need schools to teach children label reading, food intelligence, sleep, breath, stress, and body signals.

  3. We need parents to understand that love is not sugar.

  4. We need hospitals to educate people before they become patients.

  5. We need policymakers to treat misleading health advertising as a public-health threat.

  6. We need citizens to understand that a product cannot replace a disciplined life.

  7. We need organizations like GSHER to serve as bridges among science, society, and self-healthcare.

The common man is not only suffering from disease.

He is suffering from misinformation. He is suffering from market manipulation. He is suffering from attractive lies. He is suffering from the absence of biological education.

The future of health will not belong to the person who buys the most health products.

It will belong to the person who understands the body, listens to the cell, questions the claim, reads the label, respects nature, and practices daily self-healthcare. Because health cannot be outsourced to an advertisement.

Health must be understood. Health must be practiced. Health must be protected.

That is GSHER’s call. That is CelluReva’s path. That is the future of true healthcare.

From self-care to cell-care. From advertisement to awareness. From product dependency to biological responsibility.
